Kas is the most southerly of all the Turkish resorts, nestling between the Mediterranean coast and 500m high mountains, this small town is protected from the prevailing northerly winds. Kas therefore enjoys a very pleasant climate all year round.

In ancient times, Kas was known as Antiphellos, the harbor of the town of Phellos, which for safety was high in the mountains. The ruins of Phellos can still be visited. For several hundred years, Kas was a pirates stronghold, a place of relative safety for those whose way of life was to plunder the unwary seafarers of the time.

Modern Kas is a place for those who prefer an altogether quieter vacation, away from the bright lights synonymous with some of the larger resorts.
